NC- 2021 Domaine des Homs "L'Amandier" Cinsault

Situated between the ancient Roman city of Narbonne and the historic Cathar stronghold of Carcassonne, Domaine des Homs pays homage to traditional values. Jean-Marc and Anne De Crozals, who are warm-hearted, authentic, and profoundly pragmatic, cultivate a stunning 20-hectare plateau in the heart of Languedoc’s Minervois. Beginning their transition to organic farming practices in 2006, they successfully obtained certification in 2009. What sets them apart from their neighbors is their regular plowing, a practice that allows their sandy, silty, clay, and schist-rich soils to retain moisture in the face of the region’s otherwise arid and windy climate.

Inside the winery, their meticulous attention to detail is equally remarkable. Each wine, spanning from their AOC Minervois to their Vin de Pays d’Ocs, is treated as a unique entity. They employ extended vinification periods using predominantly native yeasts, capturing the essence and spirit of their magnificent terroir. The outcome is flawlessly smooth and approachable wines that mirror the personalities of those who craft them.
