"The color is an opaque purple, and very youthful for a wine approaching 7 years of age. On the nose, it's classic old-school American Cabernet in all its woodsy-herbal-fruity amalgam. Barrel aromas of cedar and toasted oak as well. The body is medium, with nothing in excess or out of place. To see a 21st-century Napa Cab at 13.5% abv is a rare bird indeed; this is the style of Cabernet that would be instantly recognizable to winemakers in the 1980s and early 1990s.  With the capacity for 10-15 years of evolution, I venture that the fruit will actually sweeten as it ages, becoming more supple and enthusiastic blackcurrent and black raspberry. If enjoying before 2030, decant for an hour. Solid, classic, classy stuff."
