The South African wine region is renowned for its diverse terroirs, exceptional quality, and rich winemaking history dating back to the 17th century. Centered around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl, the country’s vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate, cooling ocean breezes, and varied soils that create ideal conditions for grape growing. South Africa is best known for its signature grape, Pinotage, a unique cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, as well as world-class Chenin Blanc, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cape Winelands produce wines that balance Old World elegance with New World fruitiness, making them increasingly popular on the global stage.

Mathilda Joubert, co-founder and owner of SA-vor Wines, will be our guest speaker for the evening. About three years ago, she and her husband, both natives of South Africa, realized that high-quality South African wines were hard to find in America. Their solution? Launching their own import business. Since then, wines from their portfolio have become a staple at all Foxcroft locations, offering authentic regional expressions at an approachable, everyday price. Throughout the evening, you'll enjoy a selection of South African wines paired with a thoughtfully crafted five-course meal by our culinary team.
