Samuel Louis Smith is a micro négociant based in Santa Cruz, working with some of the coolest vineyard sites along California’s Central Coast. He focuses on organic farming, mountain terroir, and minimal intervention in the cellar. His wines include chardonnay, gamay noir, pinot noir, and cool climate syrah from Santa Barbara, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. Made with native yeast, little to no additions, and stem inclusion in the reds, the wines reflect a neoclassical style with lower alcohol, higher acidity, and a strong sense of place. Sam sources fruit from small growers and makes all the wine in Santa Cruz.
