SC- 2020 Ornellaia "Le Volte dell'Ornellaia"

In 1981, Marchese Lodovico Antinori breathed fresh vitality into Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, a domain that had been overlooked for decades. Assisted by the renowned agronomist Andre Tchelistcheff, Antinori introduced the first French vines to Bolgheri, nestled in the heart of Tuscany's coastal region, Maremma. This estate produces some of Tuscany's most exceptional Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. In 2002, Tenuta dell'Ornellaia came under the ownership of Marchesi de' Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, and it is now solely possessed by Marchesi de' Frescobaldi.

Ornellaia has solidified its position as one of Italy's and the world's emblematic wine estates. "Bright and young on the nose, smells like freshly-picked red cherries, almost like sweets, blackcurrant and cherry sweets braced by bramble fruits and soft perfume. Softly creamy and chalky on the palate, strawberries and red cherries have a chalky texture and quite a perfume to the flavor profile. There is fruit there but then it's subdued a little by a savory wood aspect, sweet vanilla and spiced clove that edges the palate. Drinking Window 2023 - 2035."
