Established in 1863, this venerable estate operates from the historic Château de Chambolle-Musigny. Initially spanning a modest 4 hectares in Chambolle, the domain underwent a transformative expansion when Frédéric reclaimed the family's ancestral Nuits St-Georges Monopole, Clos de la Maréchale, from Faiveley in 2004, enlarging the estate to 13 hectares. The core objective remains steadfast: crafting wines that authentically reflect their unique terroir and vintage, each possessing distinctive character—a testament to harmony and genuineness. This commitment extends to vineyard practices, where the elimination of weed-killers and industrial fertilizers has been standard for a decade. In the cellar, interventions that might overshadow the wine's intrinsic qualities—such as over-extraction or excessive use of oak—are meticulously restrained. Uniform winemaking techniques ensure that each terroir has the opportunity to express itself fully. The result? Sensual, sophisticated Burgundies distinguished by their finesse and style.
