SC- Massican Sauvignon Blanc

Massican brings the refreshing, bright style of Mediterranean white wines to California winemaking. Dan Petroski, owner and winemaker, named it after Monte Massico (the Massican hills), the coastal mountain range in southern Italy where his ancestors are from. In California they cultivate six white wine grape varieties in and around Napa Valley and Sonoma County.

With no formal winemaking background, Petroski learned with his boots on the ground, and formulated his own philosophies about winemaking along the way. He’s kept a notebook, now holding 14 years’ worth of data from growing seasons and harvests in Napa, but also relies on his instincts and observations in each new year. Thoughtful and forward-thinking, he has no intention of emulating the wines made before his arrival.

This lively white wine presents a delectable combination of flavors including ruby grapefruit, Meyer lemon, cucumber, lime zest, and pineapple. Its finish is extended, featuring hints of ginger, wet stone, and the refreshing essence of ocean spray.
