Cabernet Franc from Chinon, a famed region in France’s Loire Valley, is known for its unique expression of the grape. These wines often feature aromas of red berries, green pepper, and earthy minerality, offering a medium body with lively acidity and soft tannins. The cooler climate and limestone-rich soils of Chinon lend the wines a fresh, herbaceous character and an elegant structure. Ranging from light, approachable styles to more complex, cellar-worthy bottles, Chinon Cabernet Franc is a versatile wine, pairing beautifully with dishes from roasted meats to vegetarian fare.

"Aromas of red clay, potting soil, chalk, and rock salt, underlain by undertones of dry, savory herbs and tomato leaves. Yet, despite its unequivocally earthy character, the wine does not shun the fruit-bearing aspect of its identity. Swirls of black raspberry jam and juicy black cherry emerge, harmoniously intermingling with that unmistakable Cab-Franc hint of roasted red bell pepper. The essence of the earth echoes through the wine's texture, the sturdy, rough-hewn tannins and home-spun acidity providing a backdrop for warming flavors and notes of strawberry, cornflower, and dried oregano."
