NC- Distiloire Douce Folie Vermouth Blanc

Founded in 2017 in Nantes, Distiloire is a craft distillery in the Loire Valley that produces organic spirits and vermouths. Benoît Chaigneau, a former Loire winemaker, brings his expertise to crafting spirits with precision and finesse. Distiloire’s products are made in small batches using local, organic, and biodynamic ingredients, along with unique spices from around the world. The distillery uses a nearly 100-year-old, wood-fired Charentais copper still for slow, controlled distillations, imparting distinct style and texture to the spirits. Signature offerings include Gin "1924" and Pastis "Meskad," made with organic botanicals, and vermouths "Douce Folie," based on naturally-produced Loire wines. Every aspect, from botanical selection to hand-labeling, reflects the unique terroir of the Loire.

Hand-made Process:
Maceration of a selected plants & spices (gentian, absinthe, rosemary, chamomile, peppers, vanilla, etc.) in organic wine locally produced at Landron-Chartier winery
(organic cultivation, manual harvesting and natural vinification). Addition of alcohol and cane sugar.

Tasting Note:
"Expressive nose with aromas of citrus and yellow fruits. Balanced mouth, slightly spicy, notes of garrigue and absinthe. Nice bitterness on the finish, wrapped in vanilla."
