SC- Timbre Winery "Opening Act" Pinot Noir

Timbre Winery was established by Joshua Klapper and Alex Katz as the result of years of laborious effort and commitment to the trade. The "color" of music is TIMBRE. It is the reason why, even when singing the same song, two voices sound distinct. This explains why a distinctive wine is produced by two winemakers using the same vines. Timbre is a terroir-driven winery, meaning that the wines reflect the seasons and locations in which they were produced. As winemakers, they channel those places via their experience and add their own mark on the final wines with their unique character, their TIMBRE.

What sets their wines apart from other wines produced from the same vineyard sites, given that they procure fruit from some of the top vineyards in Santa Barbara County and along the Central Coast, yet they do not own any of those vineyards? There are numerous variables, including choices about when to rack, bottle, ferment, use of wood, and intangible, difficult-to-define components. The idea is that such intangibles have a significant influence and together they contribute to the wines' timbre.
