He crafted a wine that sold for $1 million at auction and produced a Malbec that Robert Parker suggested "may be the finest I have ever tasted from California." Katz has been recognized as a Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 Tastemaker, a Wine Spectator Rising Star, and was the first winemaker to appear on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list.

The 2021 Del Rio Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon embodies refined power, shaped by its distinctive hillside location in the southeast corner of Alexander Valley. The chalky volcanic soils, low in organic matter, naturally limit the vines' growth, resulting in concentrated, complex fruit that reflects the vineyard's unique terroir.
