In 1988, Dany and Michel Rolland, renowned French oenologists, discovered Cafayate in northwestern Argentina while consulting for a historic local family. Enchanted by its culture, traditions, and people, they recognized the potential of the pre-Andean terrain to produce exceptional wines. Over the next decade, their passion for Argentina’s diverse terroirs—from Cafayate to Neuquén—led to the creation of “Clos de los Siete” in Mendoza, with Mariflor as one of its standout plots. This journey, blending the discovery of unique expressions of Malbec and other grape varieties with deep personal connections, turned Argentina into a second home and a source of inspiration.
