As fourth-generation winemakers and farmers, Carlo and Dante Mondavi credit much of their knowledge to their grandfather Robert and father Tim, both of whom greatly influenced them from an early age. After working at Opus One, the brothers decided to start their own project in 2013, Raen Winery.
Each year, Raen Winery donates a special bottling of their Pinot Noir rosé to support The Monarch Challenge. 100% of the proceeds are dedicated to raising awareness and driving the necessary changes in farming practices promoted by the initiative.
"The wine opens with a bouquet of sun-ripened wild strawberries, crushed white peach, and delicate whispers of freshly plucked apricots. Notes of wet stone, spring nectar, and lime blossom follow, weaving through the vibrant, red fruits before finishing with a touch of crushed river rock. On the palate, sweetened berries and white nectarine take center stage, leading into a zesty and flinty finish, with a lingering hint of citrus and strawberry."
